SPITFIRE is our newly launched treatment for the control of flies on cattle and horses, lice and ticks on cattle, as well as a variety of insect pests in and around buildings. It is a one-stop shop when it comes to insect control, and being safe for use on horses and cattle, your animals will thank you. Being made locally here in New Plymouth, New Zealand our team at Hawkeye has designed SPITFIRE specifically for NZ insects, making it ideal for you whether you're in dairy, beef, or equine.

Do you own horses or cattle? Are you and your animals sick of flies buzzing around all the time? Are your stables or cowsheds, swarmed with flies in the summer? If you answered yes then you're in luck as we have developed and created a product that is safe to use on your cattle and horses and you can wave goodbye to those annoying flies.

No one likes to see their cows, ponies, or horses covered in flies with some species biting them. The animals start stomping around flicking their tail trying to get rid of the little pesky things and often try to find shade where they can have some sort of relief from the flies. However, this isn't enough. Milking becomes harder with animals constantly in discomfort, moving around and trying their best to get them off. Problems like reduced production through decreased feed intake can become one side-effect caused by flies. So the answer to common questions like "How to get rid of flies" or "How to stop flies on animals" is SPITFIRE.

Simple yet effective, our application instructions ensure optimal results:

Our commitment to safety and efficacy is unwavering. Spitfire boasts a water-based microemulsion formulation, containing 200g per liter of cypermethrin as the active ingredient. Notably, it stands apart from its counterparts by containing no xylene and being non-flammable, thus mitigating risks associated with handling.

The formulation has been in use for several years in the public health insecticide, but in 2022, was registered for animal health uses.

SPITFIRE is approved for use on lactating dairy cows with no milk withholding period, but farmers need to avoid direct contamination of the milk by applying it only after milking; keeping the spray away from the cow's teats, and also not mixing and applying SPITFIRE with teat sprayers during milking.

SPITFIRE isn't the only animal health product Hawkeye has. Our commitment to delivering superior, locally produced alternatives extends to Banshee, a natural solution tailored to combat red mite infestations in poultry. Together, these products show our mission to provide safer, more effective solutions for the New Zealand market.

Spitfire is a vet-exclusive product so if you want to buy please contact your local vet and ask for Hawkeye SPITFIRE.
